The 10 Best Books I Read in 2023

And an 11th that I just had to share.

Every year, I read about 50 books — a mix of fiction, fantasy, tech, self-improvement, and leadership. In 2023, I read a lot more fiction than I usually do, mostly to get back into reading regularly as a habit (mission accomplished!)

I read 53 books this year with the goal to have fun reading, read more books from marginalized voices, and read non-fiction books that will help me in the moment.

Any time I travel, I’ve also started reading books that take place in that city, which led me to reading a few books about Italy. I love preparing for a trip in this way — getting a taste of a place before my plane even lands.

The last thing worth noting about this year is that I finally got into audiobooks. For the longest time, I couldn’t stand listening to them, but I finally gave them a chance listening at 1.50x speed and multi-tasking while doing chores. I now always have an audiobook to listen to!
